Doctor Biography:

Dr. Koushik Chowdhury is an experienced Retina Specialist and Ophthalmologist with expertise in the diagnosis and management of retinal diseases, vitreoretinal disorders, and comprehensive eye care. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor, Chief Retina Blue Unit, and Coordinator of the Retina Division at the National Institute of Ophthalmology and Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is dedicated to delivering advanced retinal care through modern diagnostic techniques and evidence-based treatment.

Dr. Chowdhury completed his MBBS and subsequently earned the prestigious FCPS (Ophthalmology). To further enhance his expertise, he completed a Long-term Fellowship in Retina and Vitreous at the renowned Aravind Eye Institute, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, where he received advanced training in the diagnosis and management of complex retinal and vitreoretinal diseases.

Throughout his professional career, Dr. Chowdhury has been actively involved in patient care, academic teaching, and retinal services. As the Chief of the Retina Blue Unit and Coordinator of the Retina Division, he has played an important role in providing specialized retinal care while contributing to the training of ophthalmologists and the advancement of retinal services.

His areas of special interest include Retina, General Ophthalmology, and Phaco (Cataract) Surgery. He is committed to providing personalized eye care by utilizing the latest diagnostic technology and modern treatment approaches to achieve the best possible visual outcomes for his patients.

Currently, Dr. Koushik Chowdhury is available for consultation at Retina Glaucoma Center & Superspecialty Eye Hospital (RGC Eye Hospital). His chamber schedule is Saturday (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM), Monday (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM), and Thursday (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM). He is not available on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
