Doctor Biography:
Professor Dr. Md. Arif Hayat Khan Pathan is a distinguished Retina Specialist and Cataract Surgeon in Bangladesh with extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases and comprehensive ophthalmic care. He is currently serving as Professor & Head at Ad-din Women's Medical College Hospital and as an Associate Professor at Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute & Hospital. He is committed to providing advanced eye care with a focus on modern diagnostic techniques and patient-centered treatment.
Professor Dr. Pathan completed his MBBS from Dhaka Medical College (DMC). He subsequently earned MCPS and FCPS (Ophthalmology), followed by the internationally recognized qualifications of ICO (UK), FRCS (Glasgow), and FRCS (Edinburgh). These achievements reflect his dedication to continuous professional development and excellence in ophthalmology.
He completed a Fellowship in Retina at the prestigious New York Eye & Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, USA. He also received advanced fellowship training at Al Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, Pakistan, where he enhanced his expertise in the diagnosis and management of retinal and vitreoretinal disorders.
Throughout his professional career, Professor Dr. Pathan has played an active role in clinical practice, medical education, and the training of postgraduate ophthalmologists. His extensive experience in both academic and specialized eye care institutions has enabled him to provide high-quality treatment while contributing to the development of future eye specialists.
His areas of special interest include Retina, General Ophthalmology, and Phaco (Cataract) Surgery. He is dedicated to delivering comprehensive eye care by combining clinical expertise with the latest advancements in ophthalmic diagnosis and surgical management.
Currently, Professor Dr. Md. Arif Hayat Khan Pathan is available for consultation at Retina Glaucoma Center & Superspecialty Eye Hospital (RGC Eye Hospital). He is available on Saturday (11:00 AM – 1:00 PM), Sunday (3:00 PM – 6:00 PM), Monday (10:00 AM – 10:30 AM), Tuesday (3:00 PM – 6:00 PM), Wednesday (3:00 PM – 4:30 PM), and Thursday (10:00 AM – 10:30 AM). Friday remains his weekly off day.
