Doctor Biography:

Dr. (Major) Tanvir Ahmed is an experienced Ophthalmologist and Cataract Surgeon with expertise in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of eye diseases. He is currently serving as a Classified Eye Specialist & Surgeon at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH). With specialized training in cataract surgery and microsurgical techniques, he is committed to providing high-quality eye care through modern diagnostic and surgical approaches.

Dr. Tanvir Ahmed completed his MBBS from Dhaka University (DU). He also obtained the CCD qualification from BIRDEM and earned his Master of Surgery (MS) in Ophthalmology. To further enhance his clinical expertise, he achieved the internationally recognized Fellowship of the International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO), England.

He has received Advanced Training in Cataract and Microsurgery, enabling him to perform modern cataract procedures with precision and provide comprehensive treatment for various ophthalmic conditions. His dedication to continuous learning ensures that his patients benefit from the latest advancements in eye care.

Throughout his professional career, Dr. Ahmed has been actively involved in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of patients with a variety of eye diseases. His experience as a military ophthalmologist has strengthened his ability to deliver disciplined, patient-centered care while maintaining high clinical standards.

His areas of special interest include General Ophthalmology and Phaco (Cataract) Surgery. He is dedicated to helping patients achieve and maintain better vision through accurate diagnosis, personalized treatment plans, and advanced surgical techniques.

Currently, Dr. (Major) Tanvir Ahmed is available for consultation at Retina Glaucoma Center & Superspecialty Eye Hospital (RGC Eye Hospital). His chamber schedule is Sunday (3:00 PM – 6:00 PM). He is not available on Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
