Doctor Biography:

Prof. Dr. S.M. Rejwan Raju is a highly experienced Glaucoma Specialist and Phaco Surgeon with extensive expertise in the diagnosis, medical management, laser treatment, and surgical care of glaucoma. He is currently serving as the Professor & Head of the Glaucoma Department at the Lions Eye Institute & Hospital, Agargaon, Dhaka. He is committed to preserving vision through early glaucoma detection, advanced treatment, and modern cataract surgery.

Prof. Dr. Raju completed his MBBS from Dhaka Medical College (DMC) and subsequently earned the prestigious MCPS and FCPS (Ophthalmology). To further strengthen his expertise in glaucoma, he completed a Long-Term Fellowship in Glaucoma from the National Institute of Ophthalmology & Hospital (NIOH).

He also received advanced Glaucoma Training at the renowned Aravind Eye Hospital, India, where he gained specialized experience in modern glaucoma diagnosis, laser procedures, and advanced glaucoma surgeries. His international training has enhanced his ability to manage both routine and complex glaucoma cases with the latest treatment approaches.

Throughout his distinguished professional career, Prof. Dr. Raju has been actively involved in clinical practice, academic teaching, and surgical training. As the Head of the Glaucoma Department, he has played a significant role in managing patients with glaucoma and other optic nerve disorders while mentoring the next generation of ophthalmologists.

His areas of special interest include Glaucoma, General Ophthalmology, and Phaco (Cataract) Surgery. He is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered eye care by utilizing modern diagnostic technologies and advanced surgical techniques to preserve and restore vision.

Currently, Prof. Dr. S.M. Rejwan Raju is available for consultation at Retina Glaucoma Center & Superspecialty Eye Hospital (RGC Eye Hospital). His chamber schedule is Saturday (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM), Sunday (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM), Monday (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM), Tuesday (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM), and Thursday (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM). He is not available on Wednesday and Friday.
