Retina Glaucoma Center & Superspecialty Eye Hospital › Services › Eye Emergency (24/7)
Immediate diagnosis and treatment for urgent eye conditions, including injuries, sudden vision loss, severe eye pain, infections, and chemical exposure—available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our specialists are available 6 days a week for in-person and virtual consultations.
Eye emergencies do not keep office hours. A sudden loss of vision, a chemical splash, a sharp object in the eye, or a dramatic change in what you see can happen at any time of day or night — and when they do, the speed of the response can make the difference between keeping and losing vision permanently. RGC Eye Hospital’s 24-hour emergency eye service ensures that specialist care is available to you at any hour of the day or night, every single day of the year.
Not every eye problem needs emergency attention — but some absolutely do. If you experience any of the following, you should seek emergency eye care immediately without delay:
If a chemical has entered your eye, begin flushing the eye immediately with large amounts of clean water — do not stop to call for help first. Flush continuously for at least 15 to 20 minutes, then come to RGC Eye Hospital immediately or call for emergency assistance.
Do not rub the eye or try to remove the object yourself. Cover the eye loosely with a clean cloth and come to us immediately. Rubbing or pressing on the eye can cause further damage.
Come to our emergency service immediately. Conditions such as retinal detachment can progress rapidly, and the faster treatment is initiated, the better the visual outcome. Do not wait to see if the symptoms resolve on their own.
Call our emergency line and come to RGC Eye Hospital as quickly as possible. Our emergency team will assess you promptly and begin whatever treatment is needed without delay.
Our 24-hour emergency service is backed by the full range of diagnostic and surgical capabilities available at RGC Eye Hospital. From emergency laser treatment and intravitreal injections to full vitreoretinal and anterior segment surgery, our on-call specialists have the skills and the equipment to manage whatever you bring through our doors — at any hour.
